“Sino-British Workshop on City Future and Contemporary Urban Research” Held Successfully

On July 11 and 12, 2018, "Sino-British Workshop on City Future and Contemporary Urban Research" co-organized by Urban Transformations, Oxford and the Kaifeng Foundation, was held at Tsinghua University Kaifeng Development Research Institute. Nineteen scholars from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Capital University of Economics and Business, Hebei University, the University of Oxford, the University of Essex, the University of Bristol, the University of East Anglia, and the University of Manchester attended the meeting.
The conference comprised three topic forums. The first forum discussed social issues such as transportation, education, and migration in the urbanization process in contemporary China. The second forum discussed issues including macro-ideas, investment models, and climate change regarding future urban development. The third forum discussed current cultural concepts of the Xiong'an New Area. The workshop was greeted by Gan Dongyu, Secretary-General of the Kaifeng Foundation, and was summed up and closed by Michael Keith, Coordinator of Urban Transformations, Oxford.
